Marek Van Cartier and Aristeles Salonikos from Was (NaNoWriMo 2009). Blame my fangirls for that one (yes, Nelja and ~rapunzelita, I'm looking at you), because while I was the one who dropped silly stuff like "that cute little Technomage" in my story, they prompted me to have their relationship evolve like that. So yeah, Word of God: these two are an item. Sort of. Old friends with benefits and all that.

Marek doesn't mind having a look on the other side of the fence now and then, and there's not much Aristeles can do about that, sheltered as he is in his castle he doesn't dare leave anymore. But you see, Marek always ends up coming back—even if it takes one, five, ten years. They're both immortal. They've got all the time in the world. And nobody can understand them as much as they do each other, in spite of all the tensions, old grudges and not-so-good memories they share.

I think I should've worked more on that picture, but seriously, PS was killing my computer and there was no way I could do anything more complex. (I'm working with an EeePC, so it's not like I have 4 Gb RAM and whatcrap to feed PS. The poor little thing kept on crashing because even at 300dpi only, the pic and especially its background layers were becoming too heavy to handle. Argh.)

Je rejette la faute sur mes fans (oui, Nelja et ~rapunzelita, c'est de vous que je parle), parce que figurez-vous que même si c'est moi qui ai commencé à balancer de petites enclumes du genre "that cute little Technomage" dans mon histoire, ce sont elles qui, à force de discussions, ont fait virer leur relation de cette manière. Bref, Word of God: ils sont ensemble. Enfin, dans un certain sens. Amis et plus si affinités, tout ça.

Marek va régulièrement aller voir ailleurs, et il faut dire qu'Aristeles ne peut pas faire grand chose pour l'en empêcher, lui qui se planque dans son manoir et n'ose plus trop en sortir. Néanmoins, Marek finit toujours par revenir — que ça prenne un, cinq ou dix ans. Ils sont tous les deux immortels. Ils ont tous les deux l'éternité devant eux. Et personne ne peut les comprendre mieux qu'ils se comprennent l'un l'autre, en dépit de toutes les tensions, vieilles rancunes et autres souvenirs pas toujours agréables qu'ils partagent.

Je pense que j'aurais dû bosser plus sur le fond, mais PS était en train de tuer mon PC et je n'arrivais plus à faire quoi que ce soit avec. (Il faut dire que je travaille sur un EeePC, donc on oublie les 4 Go de RAM et autres nourritures utiles à PS. La pauvre chose n'arrêtait pas de planter, car même à 300 dpi seulement, l'image et surtout ses calques pour le fond devenaient bien trop lourds. Argh.)
